A shooter is a game that presents lots of violent fighting and shooting and depicts the action from the perspective of the characters-players "run" down halls and across landscapes and look around, just as if they are part of the action. A first-person shooter presents the action from the perspective of the character-as if the player is looking through the eyes of the character. A third-person shooter presents the action from behind the character, who is seen running, jumping and fighting from the back.
