For those who can't get enough of Crash, the world's favorite bandicoot is back in Universal Interactive's Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced, the sequel to the popular Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure. Besides offering more Crash on the Game Boy Advance, the title serves 30 new levels, as well as new moves, multi-player modes and playable characters. Crash fans should find lots to like.
After the adventures in Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, Dr. Neo Cortex and his minions have jettisoned into deep space. In this sequel, the fiendish N. Tropy joins forces with the evil N. Trance, a being from the fifth dimension who is a master of hypnotism. Together, the evil duo brainwashes Crash's friend's Coco and Crunch and turns them into bad guys. Our courageous hero has to overcome the nefarious scheme or lose his friends forever.
Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced remains a first rate platform game that has kids running through 24 frantic side-scrolling levels, picking up wumpa fruits, jumping onto crates, and fighting monsters. Crash has a few tricks up his sleeve that include a double-jump and spin attack. The game also serves obstacle courses where kids pilot a spaceship, water-ski or roll through a course, which add variety.
The graphics are first rate as is the sound. If two players each own a copy of the game, they can use a link cable to play select games against each other.
If kids liked Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure, they're bound to like Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced. It's basically more of the same in some new levels.
