It's fresh, fast and lots of fun, and Nintendo's WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ serves a slew of quick mini-games that will engage players.
While WarioWare initially sounds like a collection of games, it's not. It seems that Wario decides that he wants to make a fast buck in the video game publishing market. So he buys a PC and starts his own company-WarioWare, Inc. And with the help of his friends, he develops some 200 games.
Players are challenged by Wario and his developer buddies to beat all of their games within a given time limit. Each developer specializes in a particular genre of game, so players have a vague idea of what to expect. Other requirements: each "game" lasts five seconds, which is kept track of via an on-screen time-bomb; and there are no directions.
The mini-games, which vary wildly, including brushing teeth, picking someone's nose, cracking an egg over a moving frying pan, shaking a dog's paws and more. One of the game developers has a Nintendo slant and creates five-second versions of Super Mario Bros., F-Zero, Balloon Fight and The Legend of Zelda. The more games players beat, the faster and more difficult the games become.
The games appear in random order, so players can't simply memorize what you're supposed to do each time. Defeating specific game developers unlocks special two-player and challenge games for added replay value. And only a single Game Pak and Game Boy Advance system are required for the multiplayer games.
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ is innovative, fresh and a blast to play. Nintendo has come up with a true winner.
