As the famous name implies, Final Fantasy is the end-all in roleplay games. This newest release for the GBA, Nintendo's Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, offers excellent roleplay action that will satisfy fans of the series and enrapture those who are new to the roleplay genre.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is pretty much a follow-up to the popular PlayStation game from some five years ago. And in every way, from tactical battles to story to character development, the title carries the Final Fantasy brand.

In the game, a young boy named Marche leads a squad of fighters in a quest to restore his peaceful hometown, which has been transformed into a kingdom of evil sorcery. With multiple levels, side quests and dozens of jobs and abilities, gamers have lots of entertaining options to help them meet the game's objectives. And fun multi-player modes let gamers to challenge one another to determine whose army is stronger - and who is the better strategist.

The game features turn-based battles that allow gamers to strategically set their attacks and carry them out. In battle, the computer puts up a decent fight. There are a good number of character classes and a variety of weapons, armor and other objects, many of which contain abilities and powers. Gamers have lots of options to develop their characters and balance their parties.

The graphics are detailed and well done. While the game features lots of battles and fighting, it's bloodless and fairly innocuous. Roleplay games tend to be more thoughtful than your average shooter or arcade game, thus, this title is more appropriate for slightly older kids.

In all, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance will satisfy those who already love the Final Fantasy world, and appeal to those who have yet to discover the joys of roleplay.
