Blood and gore
With nothing less than hordes of disgusting, flesh-eating zombies, Capcom's Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is a bloody, gory affair. And the game itself, which is much like an action-packed role-play game, is not all that compelling to play.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis takes place shortly after the events in the original Resident Evil. It seems that a month and a half have passed since the mansion lab incident, and a virus is turning the locals into horrible zombies. Players control Jill Valentine as she tries to find other survivors and escape the city. Your foes? Flesh eating zombies, hideous mutants and a relentless new, high-powered nemesis.
The game lets players mix ammunition and offers puzzles that ask players to collect various items at different times and apply them. Controls are rather awkward because players have to direct the main character from her perspective. The game does offer a quick 180-degree turn and a dodging function that are handy during battle. But even after playing the game for some time, it's often hard to walk in a straight line.
The graphics are decent, but not ground-breaking for the Game Cube. But the zombies are adequately hideous and the bloody effects do their gory, visual jobs.
In the end, there's nothing in Resident Evil 3 Nemesis that would make us recommend it to families. The game itself is barely competent and it's full of gore.
