Advisory:
Sexual innuendo, gross humor, profanity
The main character is cute and cuddly, but Microsoft's Conker: Live and Reloaded is no kids game. To start, the warm and fuzzy squirrel smokes a cigar and is depicted as an alcoholic, and has an attitude that's strictly for adults. And as a game, it's lots of fun.
Once again, Conker, the naughty squirrel, is stirring-up trouble. The popular single-player N64 platform game, Conker's Bad Fur Day, has been completely recreated for the Xbox with modern graphics. Throughout, the game tries its best to generate shock waves with generous doses of sexual innuendo, potty humor and profanity.
The game pits the Squirrels against the evil Tediz. The title features off-the-wall puzzles and crazy characters in an offbeat world, which include: horny bees, voluptuous sun flowers and singing piles of excrement. Weapons include camera-guided rockets, an acid thrower, grenades and various vehicles. Special abilities allow players to disguise themselves or feign death and sneak up on unsuspecting foes to unload attacks.
Big additions in this Xbox version are all new team-based multiplayer modes. Players get to enjoy new Death Match and Campaign modes on Xbox Live or via System Link and compete as one of six combat specialists across multi-mission campaigns.
Players choose from six character classes, including Skyjockey, Long Ranger, Grunt, Demolisher, Thermophile, and Sneaker, each with its own signature weapons and abilities. Online, players cooperate, and communicate as a team in a campaign mode, or venture out solo against buddies in deathmatches. Players earn war medals, rise through ranks, secure unlockables, and download new maps.
Grown-ups may enjoy Conker: Live and Reloaded. But don't let the cute cuddly cover art fool you. This is no game for the kids.
