If you're into losing control....really losing control, you'll enjoy VU Games' The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. This amazing freeform game allows you to go just about anywhere and do just about anything as the Hulk. It's involving and entertaining and ranks among the best of this year's super hero games.
Based on The Incredible Hulk character franchise from Marvel Enterprises, the game is not based on the relatively recent live-action movie but on the comic books. As such, the title allows players to become the Hulk and climb and jump on top buildings, turn various objects into weapons and destroy everything that gets in the way, including entire buildings. The Hulk can even rip cars in half and use them as steel fists or smash a bus and use it as giant shield. Players have lots of fun discovering these many capabilities.
The enemy here is Abomination and the game serves some 30 story missions and 40 side challenges. As is popular these days, the game offers open environments that allow players to explore and locate icons that denote the various missions. The Hulk also comes with lots of moves, many that are unlocked along the way, which lend to the experience.
The graphics are excellent and the game manages to bring the world of the Hulk to virtual life. As you would expect from a game based on the Hulk, the title is violent and the main character indeed has some anger management problems. But The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction does justice to the Hulk franchise. It's a great game.
