Essentially getting additional mileage from a great movie, Disney's Aladdin II & III Collection bundles Aladdin: the Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves. The two movies, which were released straight to video in the nineties, pale when compared to the original Aladdin (Daytrum Review). But they're adequate.
In Aladdin: The Return of Jafar, the new evil genie, Jafar, escapes from his lamp and is bent on revenge against Aladdin. And in Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Princess Jasmine and Aladdin are finally getting married. But before their wedding, they have stop the legendary Forty Thieves from stealing a mysterious wedding gift - an all-seeing oracle, and along the way, find Aladdin's long-lost father.
Both titles strive to recreate the winning formula of the original movie with action, songs, a fun genie and more, but fall far short. But those who love the Agrabah adventures of Jasmine, Abu, carpet, Genie, and, of course, Aladdin, should mostly enjoy this DVD set.
