It's only
for the youngest viewers and
most devoted Pooh fans. Winnie The Pooh:
Springtime for Roo, a direct to home DVD
release from Disney, tells yet another
tale in
the beloved Hundred Acre Wood. This time,
it's Roo, the baby kangaroo, who gets to star.
With Easter coming, Rabbit demands that everyone participate in his spring cleaning plans, while the rest of the gang wants to hunt Easter eggs. The disc comes with a few extras that will appeal to the small fry. There's a game that lets kids click on objects in a scene to listen to sound effects. Another has kids helping Rabbit put objects away in their correct place. And an art project explains how to make a butterfly from household objects-something that parents can do with their kids.
The DVD does a great job of maintaining the franchise with cute characters that are consistent with those in past outings; good animation and simple songs. However, Winnie The Pooh: Springtime for Roo is simply the latest installment in a venerable series.
