Serving fun family entertainment
with lots of
laughs, Disney's Home on the Range presents
a cast of memorable characters in a hilarious
Old West setting.
When a greedy outlaw schemes
to own the
"Patch Of Heaven" dairy farm, three cows, along with a karate-kicking stallion,
join forces to save their home. It's a comedy buddy/road-trip picture that
features outrageous characters who try to get along and ultimately accomplish
the impossible. The film is well cast with voices by Roseanne Barr, Judi Dench,
Jennifer Tilly, Cuba Gooding Jr., Randy Quaid and Steve Buscemi, and it features
excellent songs performed by k.d. lang, Bonnie Raitt and Tim McGraw.
The film is entertaining with lots of hilarious situations and sight gags and is well animated. On the other hand, it's the least of Disney's recent animated features and a relative low note for what looks to be the last traditionally animated feature for some time.
Extras are adequate and include the animated short "A Dairy Tale: The Three Little Pigs," deleted scenes with introductions, various games and activities for youngsters, the requisite music video and a short documentary on the making of the film.
You won't go wrong with the feather-weight Home on the Range. It's an entertaining work that's good for an evening's enjoyment.
