Concord Camera announced its Concord 5345z
digital camera. Concord's first metal body digital
camera offers 5 megapixels; a 3x optical/4x digital
zoom (12x total zoom) and rapid response controls
and options for both advanced and beginner
photographers that include 19 scene mode selections,
center weighted, spot & multi-pattern metering, and
auto and preset white balance selections.

At 88 x 60.5 x 32.7mm, the Concord 5345z should
easily fit into a jeans or shirt pocket. The camera's controls are designed to react quickly to user commands. With 19 scene selections, users should be able to choose a selection that fits their shooting environment, such as party, night scene, sundown, candlelight and fireworks, and the camera programs the optimal shutter speed, aperture, and flash setting for the surroundings.

The camera features a continuous shooting mode and is able to snap three shots, one right after the other. AVI video clips can be shot at 15 frames per second in the QVGA mode and the length is only limited by the capacity of the SD card inserted in the camera.

The camera comes pre-loaded with 9.7MB of internal memory and automatically saves images to internal memory if no card is inserted. The Concord 5345z also includes two rechargeable NiMH AA batteries, a battery charger and a battery indicator that continuously displays remaining battery-life on the 1.6" TFT LCD screen.

Advanced photographers may appreciate the center weighted, spot and multi-pattern metering for fine-tuning the focus and exposure of shots, as well as user selectable ISO, user selectable white balance, exposure compensation +/- 2 EV in 1/3 EV steps, DPOF support for printing and a macro mode to 10-70cm.

The Concord 5345z is expected to be available in April 2004 at a suggested retail price of $379.99 through Concord retailers and is compatible with Windows 98, 98SE, 2000, ME, XP and Mac OS 9.0 and higher.
