If you've been using a digital camera, you have undoubtedly run into that little problem of how to manage and track the many digital pictures that reside on your computer. For this, Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 offers an excellent and efficient way to find, fix and share digital pictures.
To start, the program works with a digital camera to download photos with a single click, and grabs photos from scanners, CDs and hard drives. The software then provides a single place to access photos and video, regardless of where they are stored.
You may quickly locate
photos by the date they
were taken using a sliding timeline or in a Calendar
view that peruses pictures by day, month, week, or
year. More sophisticated, you may create visual
keyword tags to categorize photos by people,
places, and events and later search on these tags
to locate the photos.
The program offers decent
photo-editing features to
fix and improve digital images. You may use the
program to remove red-eye, adjust lighting and
color, sharpen blurry photos, crop pictures and more.
While the tools are easy to use, they are somewhat
limited. The software is far more adept at
organizing photos than editing them.
The program organizes digital images into slide shows and offers templates to create greeting cards, calendars, photo books, and more. You may also burn CDs from within the program as well as upload photos to professional online services such as Shutterfly and MyPublisher.com to order prints, photo albums, and more.
In addition to a strong Calendar view that lets you view photos by year, day or month, version 2.0 supports Collections to organize photos by topic. There are also new templates for greeting cards, including new baby, Valentine's Day and winter holiday season; e-mails; calendars; bound photo albums; Web galleries and slideshows--complete with background music and transition effects.
In all, Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 is a powerful tool that can help make sense of your digital picture collection. Estimated street price is US$49.99.
